Since February, 1905, when four men in Chicago held the first meeting of what would become Rotary International,  Rotary has grown to over 1.2 million Members in 35,000 Clubs in 212 countries and territories.

Chartered on 18 December, 1980, with the assistance of the Huntington Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Barboursville has been a focus of community service in the Barboursville community area, and in the greater Tri-State, and to international communities as well.

With 50+ Members, the Club is a good size to successfully support the basis of Rotary, which is community service, fellowship, and networking. The active Membership supports many hands-on projects throughout the year, and our Annual Charity Golf Tournament provides funding to support our activities and other worthy causes in our communities.

We meet each Wednesday at noon at the Guyan Golf and Country Club (except for the month of January, when we meet at HIMG). Lunch is followed by a short business meeting and various programs of interest. The one o'clock dismissal is (mostly) strictly enforced.

Our Membership is diverse, in age, gender and heritage, and provides an excellent cross-section of our community and area, both personally and professionally.

We are an active Club, with many on-going projects, and we are always on the lookout for new ways to demonstrate the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.

The Club supports a Rotary Interact Club at Cabell Midland High School.
